Report: Moms are Stressed About the Economy (Tell Me Something I Don't Know)
From the Department of Obvious News:
A new "State of the American Mom Report" from the Marketing to Moms Coalition finds that more moms feel stressed about their current family life (40 percent) than feel good about the way things are (33 percent). Groups with higher level of stress include full-time working mothers, those with lower incomes and divorced moms. The economy is a big factor in rising stress levels -- 75 percent of moms report using more leftovers this year in an effort to save money.
More money-saving tactics:
- Doing more one-stop shopping
- Making meals at home as opposed to eating out
- Shopping and bill paying online, on-time
- Shopping in bulk
- Enlisting kids to help with the household chores
Over 1,000 moms with at least one child under the age of 18 were surveyed for the report.
