Sunny Days -- My Trip to Sesame Street

I had a childhood dream realized earlier this week when I had the opportunity to visit the set of iconic television show Sesame Street.

I was invited as part of a group of parenting bloggers to tour the set, meet cast members and puppeteers and actually watch them film part of an episode for the 41st season, which will air next year. The 40th season will kick off on November 10, 2009 and promises to be one of the best ones yet, with celebrities such as First Lady Michelle Obama, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jason Mraz and others.

We also learned a lot about some new initiatives launched by the team at Digital Sesame, including some parent- and kid-friendly features that will make browsing the Sesame Street website easy and fun.

The lucky group included bloggers from Primetime Parenting, INO Mommy, ParentDish, DaddyTips, Next Kid Thing, Mom in the City, Selfish Mom, NYCityMama, Fits and Giggles, Savvy Auntie, The Reluctant Daddy, Mommy Poppins, Babyrific and A Frugal Friend.

I think I speak for the group when I say it was an experience we won't soon forget!
