When I saw the title of the latest offering by award-winning author Mo Willems, I knew I would be in for a treat. And I was right. But where I thought I would be laughing and giggling through the pages (and at times I certainly was), the ending left me more emotional that I anticipated.

The third and final title in the Knuffle Bunny series (compare prices), Knuffle Bunny Free: An Unexpected Diversion (compare prices) finds Trixie leaving her cherished Knuffle Bunny on an airplane. As she imagines what Knuffle Bunny is doing without her, she also begins to come to the realization that she is growing up. And when the pair is reunited, she comes to an significant decision that parents everywhere will view with both a smile and a tear.

Those familiar and unfamiliar with the series will be charmed by the style of the book -- animated-style art superimposed over photographs. And even if you haven't read past titles (you should!) this one can certainly be read as a stand-alone.

If your child has a lovey or blanket that they can't seem to let go of just yet, Knuffle Bunny will provide and interesting perspective for both parent and little one.
