As you take down your holiday decorations this month (I did mine yesterday, score!), it's a good idea to be mindful of the potential fire hazards in your home. The National Fire Protection Association has some great tips on keeping your home fire safe during the winter, such as remembering to turn off portable heaters and making sure you have working smoke alarms.
Simple steps like these don't take long at all but can be life-changers for sure.
