New App Tracks Recalls

From the "Why didn't I think of that?" department:

It seems like every day a new recall is announced. From medicine to toys, the CPSC, keeps very busy announcing details about a product that might not be as safe as was thought.

A new app for the iPhone and iPod touch keeps track of specific products that you have in your possession and alerts you to any recall notices about them. Recalls Plus also collates information from different government agencies and brings them together right to your device, making it easier to stay on top of the various announcements.

I love this app. Not only can you keep track of all recalls, but you can add in your specific products -- car seats, high chairs, toys -- and the app will let you know if there is ever an issue. Such a great idea. And it's free to boot!

Have you ever had to return a recalled product?
