UPDATE (11/20/12): Kevin Clash Has Resigned
UPDATE (11/19/12): The accuser is now rescinding his recant.
The New York Times is reporting that the man who accused Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash of having a sexual relationship with him when he was 16 is retracting his story.
The Media Decoder blog reported this evening that the law firm who is representing the unnamed accuser released a statement that read in part, that the man "wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship."
Sesame Workshop released a short statement on their website that reads, "We are pleased that this matter has been brought to a close, and we are happy that Kevin can move on from this unfortunate episode." There is no word on when Clash will be returning to work from his leave of absence.
