You hear it all the time (and probably even say it to your preschooler) -- "Don't play with your food." But this fun snack should keep them guessing -- and eating.
Take a good-sized apple (any firmer variety will do, so choose one that your preschooler likes) and neatly remove the core to the center, setting it aside. Now you have a cavity inside the apple to stick a "surprise" -- gummy bears, M&Ms, raisins or other small treats (be mindful of choking hazards).
Cut off the bottom inch or so of the reserved core and place it back inside the apple. Serve to your preschooler and wait for his reaction!
