For years, one version or another of an Elmo doll has dominated holiday shopping lists. This year a new twist on the furry favorite is sure to keep the whole family laughing and dancing.

Product Overview

This pair of red fuzzy gloves provide immediate visual interest. Soft and the perfect size for little ones, but I was able to squeeze in my own hands so I could tickle my kids (to their delight). Note that only one of the gloves makes noise and vibrates.

When you touch the interactive glove to a surface, touch Elmo's nose or raise your hands above your head, they begin to talk, giggle and vibrate. Touch a second time and Elmo will tell you how to do "The Tickle Hand Groove," a new, original dance designed to go with the gloves.

The DVD teaches kids how to do the dance so they can watch and play along (wearing their gloves of course). Even Cookie Monster puts in a cameo or two.

Requires two AA batteries which are included.

Review of Elmo's Tickle Hands

Whenever I think about or see Elmo, I can help but smile and this product cemented my default reaction. Elmo's Tickle Hands are all about fun and getting your child to laugh and move around. From the second they came out of the box, my kids and I were laughing.

Certainly a strong enough product on its own, the gloves are strengthened by the dance-along DVD. The beat is catchy and you'll find yourself singing it for the rest of the day (maybe not such a good thing). Younger preschoolers might have trouble following the dance, but knowing the proper steps are not necessary to enjoy this toy.

No, the fun comes from the tickling -- ticking mommy, a favorite toy, a sibling, the dog -- with each pressing of Elmo's nose, Elmo says something else or laughs his unmistakable giggle.

I like that this toy encourages kids to move. Whether they are dancing with or without the assistance of the DVD or just chasing someone around the house trying to tickle them, it's impossible for a child to play with this toy and stay still.

So go ahead and groove along.
