From the article: Are Kids' Sports Good for Preschoolers?
Organized kids' sports are a great way for preschoolers to be active as well as learn important social skills. Does your preschooler play a team or individual sport? Which one? Why did you choose it? Why did you choose it?
Soccer and multi sports
- I recently tried out my 3 year old in a multi sports class. It was a free introductory class so he was able to try all the sports. He especially loved soccer and Hockey although did try basketball, T Ball and some track and field games. I would recommend anyone with kids this age to get their kids on it! It burns some much needed energy that my kid has way too much of!

Track
- My son has so much energy, we though letting him run track would be a good idea. We were right. He loves it. It's a sport he does on his own, but he is still on a team for the relay race. Plus he burns off some energy. Track is good for other sports in the future too.

Cheerleading
- Our daughter loves to dance and yell so we signed her up for a local cheerleading squad. She loves it so much. She has made so many great friends and she is having a ball. She looks so cute too!

Karate
- My son started karate classes at age 4.5. He hasn't yet competed in a tournament, but he enjoys learning new moves in class and being able to see his progress clearly as he earns stripes and belts.

MP
- And so it began....SOCCER! We chose it for a couple of reasons, first it was about the only sports offered and because it required LOTS OF RUNNING AROUND. We know that he would like the spotlight on him too. He's shy sometimes, but is getting used to the idea of all of our focus on him and not his little baby sister.

Soccer!
- We thought soccer would be a good choice for our 4-year-old bundle of energy. He gets to run around like a madman and he's made some new friends. Sometimes he is hesitant, but for the most part he really likes getting out there and playing.
