From the article: 9 Great Starting Preschool Books
Books are a great way to introduce a child to preschool -- what goes on in the classroom, who the teacher is and where she'll eat snack. What did you read to your child before he started school? What are your favorite starting preschool books? Share what you read
The Kissing Hand
- Your list is great...I'd add at least 2 others. The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn (which I am using in several book event programs I am doing with parents and kids) and Take a Kiss to School by Angela McAllister. One of the most important things a parent can do to insure a great start to school is to have an upbeat, positive, matter-a-fact attitude. Our children often mirror us and we can help them approach the first experience in school (daycare or nursery or preschool) with eager anticipation by being relaxed and happy about it ourselves.

Wemberly Worried
- I love Kevin Henkes anyway, but this book is really great for a child who is anxious about starting school. The fact that the little mouse has a "lovey" she wants to bring made it even better.
